This photo is of the family of George W. Roberson. If the little child in front is Carl, born 15 October 1899, then this picture was taken about 1901, probably in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma Territory - their home at that time.
The author cannot positively identify each member of this photo, as the original had no names. But we can make some good educated guesses, based upon what is known of the family. From left to right, front row: George Wesley Roberson, George W(ashington) Roberson, Polk Huntus Roberson, Carl Roberson, and Saphronia "Fronia" Roberson. From left to right, back row: William Bee Roberson, John Caleb Roberson, and our ancestor, Charles Bert Roberson.
One complicating factor in positive identification is that Fronia is known to have had 13 children, five of whom did not reach adulthood. The little one in front could be Jessie Roberson, born September 1897, according to his place on the U. S. Census of 1900. Jessie was no longer living by the U. S. Census of 1910.
